Real care goes beyond routines—it reaches into the heart of someone’s life to create joy, meaning, and connection. Recently, one of our Caregivers, Jose Ramirez, brought that philosophy to life in the most unforgettable way.
And it made an impact far beyond the park gates.
Jose took Linda F., a client living with dementia, on a special spring trip to Disneyland. This wasn’t just an outing—it was a moment of courage, compassion, and imagination that demonstrated exactly what personalized care can look like.

“I was extremely excited and grateful that Jose was willing to give Linda an experience that would have been impossible without his support,” said Mariana, Linda’s responsible party. “This was a team effort, and Linda having that experience is primarily due to Jose’s bravery—taking a long road trip without any guarantee that she could endure it without challenges.”
For those who have witnessed the effects of dementia, the idea of a theme park visit may seem too complex or too risky. But Jose saw something else. He saw a spark in Linda. He recognized her desire for something more than the familiar four walls of daily routine.
“Although it was Linda and Jose who took the trip,” Mariana continued, “being a part of the coordination and witnessing their collective excitement made me feel like I was attending as well.”
That excitement—shared and experienced—was a powerful shift. During the trip, Linda smiled, laughed, and connected with the sensory joy of the moment: music, colors, sunshine, and movement. When she returned home, the impact continued.
“I believe this experience gave Linda not only a sense of normalcy,” Mariana shared, “but motivation to advocate for herself to take more trips. Her dementia does not stop her from enjoying her life, regardless of her age—and that is all we hope for her.”
Linda now keeps printed photos from her Disneyland adventure nearby. She may not remember every detail, but the feeling remains. She smiles when she looks at them, tapping into something emotional and real, even when memory fades.

“Caregivers making it a point to print photos that are visible daily speaks volumes,” Mariana said. “It still makes her happy in the moment to know she enjoyed herself, as seen in her facial expressions on the photos.”
Mariana also acknowledged the extraordinary team behind the experience.
“I am beyond grateful for Jose’s ability to take his role seriously and understand that he makes the biggest impact in Linda’s life. His effort helps our office manage her care empathetically and efficiently.”
This is Elevated Care: When someone’s whole person is seen, honored, and celebrated.
Arosa Care Manager, Annie Budash, who works closely with Linda, concludes:
“The planning and execution of this Disneyland trip is a perfect example of the close relationship the caregivers have with Hannah. They continuously advocate for her, think outside the box, and go above and beyond to make sure she feels cared for and loved. Their commitment to her care is immeasurable”.
We don’t just provide in-home support—we create moments that matter. Whether it’s a quiet conversation or a bold Disneyland adventure, our Caregivers and Care Managers work together to ensure that aging never means losing joy.
